The Library Project
The goal is to create, curate and sustain a distributed library serving a distinct community who needs are not typically met by Council, University or Parochial libraries in the South Eastern area of Melbourne. Practically, this will involve many tasks relating to organisation, administration and policy develop.
The Analysis Project
The focus of this project is the analysis and reflection on various texts. Some attempt will be made to provide general guidance in using the library generally and in using various texts specificly.
The Learning Project
How are we to go about the gentle art of learning alone and with others? Given the turbulence of our times and the fracturing of the institutions that have typically led the way with learning, it is salient to consider the various dimensions of personal and communal learning.
The Community Project
In his Devotions on Emergent Occasions, John Donne famously stated that "no man is an island unto himself...never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee" (Meditations XVII). So how do we develop and sustain community, particularly a community that might curate and distributed library through generations?
The Commentary Project
It's important to get a line and length regarding the state of the times. This ongoing process provides a necessary context for understanding why there is a need for distributed libraries at the beginning of the Third Millenium.
